This is our logo. Our company name is 'Blackout Studios'. This is linked with our use of low key lighting that will be used in our opening sequence. The repetitive use of flashing (strobe light) will be used in our opening sequence when jumping from different locations.
I produced it in 'Final Cut Pro' and imported the strobe light from youtube and added text over the 'plain' effect of text. I also increased the size of the text for it to stand out. Instead of the whole text being the same size, the 'studios' is smaller to present the 'Blackout' to stand out more. This would be done for the audience to clearly understand the name of the company. Furthermore, I chose the time to be at 6 seconds as this would mean that it would not be too long and would not affect the eyesight of the audience due to the excessive strobes. At the end, 'Blackout studios' disappears so that it is just the strobe lighting so that the title has just 'blacked out'.
These are my first ideas on how the 'Blackout studios' would be presented in a certain font:
After a lot of research in other logo's such as: Universal studios, Working Title, Paramount and Pixar. All these film company logo's are relatively simple with one size font and clear understanding. This is the approach that I took when making my logo.

Pixar is a plain and simple logo with animation of a lamp representing the 'i' in 'Pixar'. There are sound effects of the lamp jumping around, or when there is a soundtrack playing over the top the sound effects will be muted. This logo is easily recognisable by most people.
Universal is a bold logo. This is shown through the size of text they have, with a shiny golden colour. With the text being bigger than the world, it represents the status of the company and how it's marketed to be universally received. We will use the same boldness that 'Universal' have in our logo.
The logo for Working Title is very plain and simple. The logo isn't complex and this would be an easier approach for us to produce our logo. The font that Working Title use is plain, which we will use also for our company logo.
Paramount is the most complex out of all the logos as it begins with stars shooting in from the clouds to the top of the mountain. This would be done in the use of animation and normally in most films the soundtrack would play over this logo. The font that is used is an old fashioned font with serifs. I would avoid this font and keep to bold and plain as it stands out more.
